Congratulations to Dr. Art Conklin, associate professor in the ILT department, on the publication of the second edition of his latest book, Principles of Computer Security: Security+ and Beyond. The textbook is currently being used as part of the curriculum materials for ITEC 2337, taught this semester by Thomas Gibbs. Not only do we have the most current textbooks in use in College of Technology courses, we also have the authors who wrote them teaching courses! More information about the book, including a short description of the topics covered can be found at Amazon.com
As well, Dr. Conklin recently passed the CSSLP exam, which is a national certification for “Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional” from ISC2. There are currently less than 1000 certified CSSLP’s. Dr. Conklin also holds Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification (CISSP), which is the major certification in information security.
