Hello SSHRD Alumni!

As of August, the SSHRD Officers decided that we would like to build a stronger bond between our SSHRD members and alumni by establishing a group for our alumni. The alumni who participate in this group will be called SSHRD Mentors.

You can become an SSHRD Mentor by participating in one activity/event from each of the sections below.

Section A

• Invite SSHRD to a Corporate Tour
• Sponsor Events
• Speak at a Meeting
• Sponsor Food at a Meeting
• Sponsor Supplies for a Fundraiser

Section B

• Participate in a Fundraising Activity
• Volunteer to be a Mock-Interviewer
• Write a helpful guide or inspirational stories for SSHRD members
• Donate $35

When you are an SSHRD Mentor, you will stay subscribed to our SSHRD mailing list that includes employment opportunities and information about our organization's events. Also, we will write personal endorsements on your LinkedIn page, as a way of showing our gratitude. Volunteering as an SSHRD Mentor would be a great way to give back to our organization, boost your resume, and help future SSHRD leaders reach their goals. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity, and become an SSHRD Mentor.

Please give us at least one month's notice if you would like to speak, volunteer to help out at events, or sponsor events. Stay tuned for an updated SSHRD calendar! The SSHRD meetings will be held at UH Main Campus CAM Building. You are welcome to join us for our first meeting, which will be on Monday, September 8 from 4-5 PM. We would love to see you there!

This SSHRD Mentor opportunity is available one semester at a time. We are currently accepting SSHRD Mentors for the Fall semester. If you are interested in becoming an SSHRD Mentor or would like more information, please email SSHRD at sshrd.uh@gmail.com.
