Electrical Power Engineering Technology, Maria chose her major because she has an interest in learning about electrical systems that are economically safe for the environment. She joined ISA because of her interest in environmental control and energy management. Maria's goals as an officer for ISA is to help inform others of the joy of automation and the many branches that automation provides in the technology world.
Yvette Gonzalez is a mechanical engineering technology major in the College of Technology. she enjoys being very active in organizations on campus and giving back to the community. Her goal this year is to get more students involved in our organization and show them all the benefits of being an active member
Brandon Widow is a junior currently studying Computer Engineering Technology at the University of Houston. He chose this field of study because computers and their potential to further advance the world on a technological scale have always fascinated him. Brandon joined ISA because he was interested in learning more about the professional side of automation and technology. Being a college student, it helps to meet new people who are already knowledgeable about the field that he is interested in. As an ISA officer he hopes to help his peers learn more about the field as well as enhance his leadership skills as a technology leader.
Tam came over to America with his family when he was six years old. He has several goals, for example, the American dream, have a stable career, family and a house. Another goal he has is something he does daily, which is helping people wherever he goes. He is majoring in Electrical Power Engineering Technology. Being part of ISA gave him the opportunity to service and help the communities. The reason he become a leader, is because he wants to do more for ISA as well as staying involved more with ISA. The legacy he wants to leave behind is that it doesn't matter the background or past, what matter is what you do now.
Dr. Yuan is an Associate Professor of Engineering Technology Department in the College of Technology,. She has been a member of ISA and serves as faculty adviser for UH Student Chapter since 2006. Her area of expertise includes instrumentation and smart sensor network, signal modeling, simulation, medical imaging acquisition and understanding, and decision support system. She is the founder and director of ISGRIN (Intelligent Sensor Grid and Informatics) research lab and always welcomes interested and motivated undergraduate and graduate students to join the group for some research projects.
