Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) Certification

University of Houston first received the “Center of Academic Excellence” designation for its education programs in 2007, after the creation of the Center for Information Security Research and Education. This was renewed in 2014, along with the additional designation as a Research Institution.

NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education with focus areas of:
- Digital Forensics , and
- Industrial Control Systems (SCADA) Security
