Honoring the Vision of the Abramson Family

The Abramson family founded the Center for the Future of Health in 2005 as a joint effort of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute and the University of Houston College of Technology. Mr. Morrie Abramson, a former Chair of the University of Houston Regents and a current director of The Methodist Hospital and The Methodist Hospital Research Institute, provided seed funding for the Center based on the belief that, together, the institutions can more effectively leverage their strengths to transform the future of health and create better health for all people.

Leading the Center as Executive Director is Clifford C. Dacso, MD, MPH, MBA, a physician at The Methodist Hospital, where he holds the John S. Dunn Research Chair in General Internal Medicine, and a Distinguished Research Professor at the University of Houston. The Center is also affiliated with the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, Israel.
