About the Station
The Student Video Network (SVN/Channel 6) is one of seven fee-funded organizations in the University of Houston's Department of Campus Activities. Channel 6 provides students the unique opportunity to develop movies, television shows, commercials, and special features for the small screen, experiencing the entire process from inception to air. Participation is open to all currently enrolled students of the University of Houston, though interviews and/or training may be required before appointment.
Mission
The mission of the University of Houston Student Video Network (SVN) is trifold:
- To create and provide student-oriented programming that informs, educates, and entertains.
- To act as a source of connection, training, and networking for students, the University of Houston, and the greater Houston area.
- To provide the opportunity of involvement to all students.
New studio hours
- Monday: 11 a.m - 5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 8:30 a.m - 5:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: 12 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Friday: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
