Administrative
- Public Relations Committee
The PRC will interview anyone who is interested in joining. There will also be several Chair positions available – contact Anne Yueh for more info: ayueh@uh.edu You can still do something else in addition to being on this team. - Programmers
Jake and Chuck need your help to keep us on the air! If you like computers and want to help make sure all the right shows are airing at all the right times, please join the programming team. You can still do something else in addition to being on this team. - Finance Director
If you have experience with budgets/finances, please let us know. The Finance Director manages the budget, keeps track of expenditures, and prepares the SFAC report. This is an executive position. - Secretary
The Secretary will keep track of all SVN records, information, schedules, announcements, emails, etc. It is great training for President/VP. The Secretary must be super organized and have excellent writing skills. This is an executive position. - Assistant Engineer
Do you love sound, light, and video equipment? Come help Chuck keep the studio in shape.
Production
- Camera/Technical Crew
We’re looking for dependable people who want to learn about cameras, sound, lights, camera angles, etc. Camerapersons have a great impact on the overall look of the show, and it’s is a good way to work up to director. It is also a must if you want to do any freelance videography in the real world. - Editors
If you have experience with Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Adobe Premiere, or even Windows Movie Maker – we want you! If you’re willing to learn, we want you, too! The editor has huge creative input into the look of a show, and we need dedicated people to make it happen. - Script Writing Committee
Seeking people with excellent writing skills and, preferably, who are familiar with screenwriting format. - Talent
All talent are required to audition. Remember that talent positions are severely limited! Have a backup plan! Talent will be chosen in the beginning of the fall semester by the producers and directors. - Reporters
We are planning to do a news show in the Spring of 2008. Anyone interested in being a reporter needs to start preparing now. You will be working in teams of 2 (one reporter, one cameraman, then switch) to prepare 3-minute news packages throughout the semester. The best reporters will be considered for the actual news show in the spring. - Directors/Technical Directors
Directors need to have a firm grasp on the technical side of things, as well as good people skills. They are in charge of the creative vision of a show. - Producers
The producer oversees the business side of a show and must have good organizational, project management, and people skills. They also ensures their show is in compliance with SVN policies. This is an executive position. We need fabulous people in these roles!
Remember that all positions are currently unpaid. It's about the experience!
