All application information is submitted online. The link to the application is available in step 3 below. Please note that you may be eligible for more than one scholarship. One complete scholarship application submission makes you eligible for all qualifying scholarships.

Step 1: Review

Scholarship applicants must be enrolled in at least one course taught at the UH Sugar Land campus.

Scholarship recipients must be enrolled for the semester(s) of the award.

Please be aware that awards will not be received in time for fee payments. Students are responsible for paying tuition and fees by established deadlines at the University of Houston.

Step 2: Prepare

One complete scholarship application submission and required documents upload make you eligible for all qualifying scholarships.

Prepare the following materials:

  1. Personal statement/essay - (12 point font)

The essay is one of the most important parts of the scholarship application. It allows the scholarship committee to know about you personally, understand your educational goals, and how this scholarship will help you achieve those goals. Your essay should be attached to the application. Do not send a resume as a replacement for the essay. The essay should contain the following information:

Part I - Tell the committee about yourself and education goals. Describe your background: major or degree you are pursuing; why award will assist you in obtaining your degree; how you will contribute to the university after graduation.

Part II - Tell the committee about activities, accomplishments and achievements. This will help us to determine the scholarship for which you are most eligible.

Part III - Tell the committee if you are the first in your immediate family to attend college, if you are a non-traditional student, if you have specific financial needs we should be aware of, or if you have overcome obstacles in your life that have made you more aware of the need for a college education. Special consideration will be given to these circumstances when granting awards.
