Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Instructions for completing online scholarship application form:

1. If you are submitting the application for the first time, you should first create new application by clicking on Apply for HJCC Scholarship.

2. Be sure to remember your Student ID# and Password. You are always required to login using the Student ID# and password you have created.

3. Enter all the information requested into the appropriate spaces on the form. Please answer all questions. Write "NA" for fields that are not applicable .

4. Review the information you entered for accuracy.

5. After entering all the information, press the "Save & Continue to Next Page " button at the end of the form. Failure to click on the button will result in loss of information.

6. If you have entered only partial information and want to continue later, press the "Save & Continue Later" button at the end of the form.

7. You can edit the saved application by clicking on Continue with already saved application.

8. After submitting the application you should take printout of the completed application by clicking on Print the completed application.

9. Please be sure to sign the affidavit on the page3 of the application before submitting.


Inorder to process your application the following documents must be submitted before the deadline to OISP:

  • The signed-printout of the completed application.
  • Two HJCC Reference Forms (one of which must be from a UH instructor), signed and submitted in sealed envelopes to OISP.
  • Study Abroad Essay (It should consist of 3 paragraphs not exceeding one page, typewritten and double spaced, describing how the study abroad program you have selected will enhance your academic program at the University of Houston. Also, Please state:
    • Personal and professional goals
    • Explain how they fit into your study abroad program
    • What contribution will you be able to make to your community and college on return?
  • One official University of Houston transcript (computer printout not accepted).
  • One page study abroad program description with cost information. (This may be a photocopy of part of the program brochure or a page from the provider's website)

Applications should be printed and submitted along with the above documents on or before the deadline
