Do you often find yourself juggling many assignments at one time? The semester is quickly coming to a close, along with this comes added stress from exams, papers and projects. Stress Free Finals Week provides you with an opportunity to relax and breakaway from your day-to-day worries.

Prevent Blindness Texas

Established in 1956 and incorporated in 1965, Prevent Blindness Texas is the state's leading voluntary eye health and safety organization dedicated to preventing blindness and preserving sight. Volunteers will be helping with in office assistance. Transportation will be provided. All volunteers will meet at the Student Center South by 8:15am to depart at 8:30am.

UH Mindfulness Meditation

Take a moment to relax. Weekly mindfulness meditation sessions sponsored by the UH Wellness Center are open to everyone. This offering is part of UH Wellness's mission to educate around all dimensions of wellness, and provide a space for emotional and mental development. No experience necessary. Sessions include mindfulness meditation instruction. No pre-registration is required – just show up and join us.

SPB Presents: Winter Wonderland

SPB is bringing out 60 tons of snow for students to go sledding, snowball fight, make snowmen, or snow angels! There will also be free food and free t-shirts!

Holthouse Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston strives to empower low-income youth through their multi-faceted approach to youth development. Volunteers will participate in a variety of youth engagement activities such as outdoor play, arts & crafts, board games, and tutoring. Volunteers for this event will meet at the benches besides the entrance of the Student Center 15 minutes before the start time of the event to sign waivers. At the start time of the event, we will then proceed to carpool to the Holthouse club.

Wellness for the Health of It Speaker Series- Stress Less Seminar for UH Students

Learn to identify and cope with what stresses you out individually, how to manage stress at and away from school, and how to develop a personal wellness program to reduce your risk of stress-related health problems. Dr. Jerry Evans will provide practical instruction and relaxation techniques designed to help you reduce your stress and improve your overall quality of life.

Medical Bridges

8:30am

Medical Bridges aims to connect the healthcare gap worldwide by procuring and distributing medical equipment and supplies to underserved communities. Volunteers are needed to sort out donated medical supplies in preparation for shipment to those in need in developing countries. Transportation will be provided. All volunteers will meet at the Student Center South by 8:15am to depart at 8:30am.

Unwind with Wellness

2:00 – 4:00pm
UH Recreation and Wellness Center

Unwind with Wellness is a semi-annual stress-free event held at the end of every Fall and Spring semester. Being one of the largest events organized by UH Wellness each semester, Unwind with Wellness provides students with unique relaxation experiences, like chair massages, therapy pets, meditation, our relaxation station and Do It Yourself Projects. Light refreshments are also provided.

Campus partners are also present to provide support for students, including Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Learning Advancements for Undergraduate Cougars of Houston (LAUNCH), Dean of Students (DOS), SMART Cougars, and our campus dietitian.
