Harris County Sheriff to Deliver Keynote at Annual Social Work Awards Breakfast

The Graduate College of Social Work will host the 12th annual Greater Houston Area Social Work Awards Breakfast on March 2, 2012. The annual event honors the best and brightest in the profession and celebrates social workers in the greater Houston area.

The program includes a breakfast buffet, awards ceremony, networking opportunities and a keynote address "The Harris County Jail:  The Largest Mental Health Provider in Texas" from Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. Sheriff Garcia has developed numerous community outreach and partnership initiatives in Harris County as well as programs to reduce recidivism within the inmate population. Early registration for the event (which includes .2 CEUs) is $40 before February 24, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Registration is $55 after February 24, 2012. Students can register for $25 with a current student ID.
