The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (formerly American Humanics) prepares you to be a skilled professional and one of tomorrow’s leaders in America’s nonprofit organizations. Pursuing certification is a big commitment of your valuable time and something that could change the direction of your life. We want to you to be sure this is the right direction to take for YOU.

If you are interested in joining the Alliance or have questions about the program, please attend one of our group advising sessions held by Program Director Melanie Barr Fitzpatrick in room 439 of the GCSW.

Fees and costs of the program:

UH Fees:

  • Students pay a program fee of $100.00, which is assessed each year you are enrolled. This fee is assessed beginning at the time of enrollment and in the Fall semester for each year you continue.

Student Dues:

When you enroll in the certification program, you automatically become a member of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Student Association (NLSA). The NLSA is a student-driven organization and actively participates in planning and delivery of the experiential requirements, gaining skills and networking with future colleagues or employers along the way. NLSA dues are $15 in the Fall Semester and in the Spring Semester or $30 each year. This check is made out directly to the NLSA and is used for special NLSA events or community service projects.
