Houston Shakespeare Festival Conservatory Overnight Intensive

The Houston Shakespeare Festival Conservatory is a rigorous 17-day overnight summer camp for high school students that focuses on teaching Shakespeare performance and exposing students to the professional theatre world. Students will live on campus at the University of Houston Cougar Village dorms, take classes at the School of Theatre & Dance and participate in performances at Miller Outdoor Theatre.

The HSF Conservatory is designed to give high school students:

  • One-on-one masterclasses with Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) professionals in acting, voice, text analysis, stage combat and much more
  • The opportunity to perform at Houston’s premier summer theatre festival and be seen by over 25,000 spectators
  • Develop and perform a showcase of scenes and monologues
  • Create and present two Green Shows and Shakespearean Sonnets at Miller Outdoor Theatre
