The University of Houston Staff Council is an advisory body to the President of the University and the University administration. Staff Council consists of elected staff members from each division to represent the entire staff body.

Cougars Helping Cougars: Hurricane Ike Relief Fund
The University is concerned about staff members who have experienced losses and damages due to Hurricane Ike and has established a relief fund in an effort to assist staff members in their recovery. To be considered for assistance, download the Application for Assistance PDF and complete and submit it according to instructions on the form. For easier completion, open the PDF in your PDF viewer application, input information directly into the form fields, and print the completed form.

2008 Membership Election Results Announced
Results of the 20th annual university-wide election for Staff Council representatives, which was held Tuesday-Wednesday, July 15-16, 2008, have been announced. See the Elections page for full election results. New and returning representatives will take office during Staff Council's Sept. 4 meeting.

2008 UH Standing Committees Preference Survey
The Staff Council Appointments Committee has implemented a Preference Survey to nominate staff to all the University standing committees that request Staff Council representation. Your response to this survey places your name in a preferred pool of staff from which the majority of nominations are drawn throughout the year. Planning Begins for 11th Annual Cougar First Impressions, August 25-26, 2008
The 2008 Cougar First Impressions will be held on Monday and Tuesday, August 25 and 26, and planning for the event takes place year-round. 2008 Spring Forum with President Renu Khator
Staff Council held its 2008 Spring Forum on Thursday, March 6. The forum allowed staff to hear directly from President Renu Khator and her cabinet members.
