Research interests

Experimental phase equilibria at high temperatures and pressures of cuprate systems, of bismuth-alkaline earth oxides, and of volatile-bearing silicate systems. Oxide anion conduction in bismuth-alkaline earth oxides and relationship to crystal structures. Development of in situ analytical techniques for trace elements in oxide and silicate systems and for valence state of first-row transition metals. Chemical characterization of cumulate rocks from oceanic and continental environments by x-ray, electron, and mass spectrometric techniques.
