Who can rent equipment from Outdoor Adventure (OA)?
All current members of the CRWC are eligible to rent equipment – This includes students enrolled in classes and individual memberships. Sponsored daily guests are not permitted to rent from OA.
Where do I rent equipment?
Renting equipment from Outdoor Adventure is strictly on a day of policy. Reservations are NOT accepted. To rent equipmnet, go to the Welcome Desk/Member Services at the CRWC, collect your receipt, and bring the receipt back to the OA office during office hours. Monday and Friday 12:00-5:00pm, Tuesday - Thursday 2:00-5:00pm.
What type of gear is available to rent?
OA has a selection of equipment to rent, including gear for camping, backpacking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, surfing, suping and other individual items.
How much are the various items?
Prices are available for a day, weekend, week, or as needed upon request.
If I return equipment late, are additional fees required?
Yes, late fees are charged per day at the daily rate of the unreturned item.
What happens if gear is damaged, lost, or stolen?
If possible, appropriate repair fees will be assessed or complete replacement of the item will be required.
What if I don’t know how to use the equipment?
Our knowledgeable OA staff will be happy to give you a brief explanation of the gear.
I want to rent gear for a trip on my own, but I don’t know where to go. Can you suggest places?
Absolutely — We will be happy to provide you with personal knowledge or resources of references to help plan your trip.
Why can’t I rent climbing gear?
In order to maintain safety standards, it is required to know the history of climbing gear. Therefore, equipment such as ropes, harnesses, caribeaners, etc. are never rented.
