Park and Ride routes
have stops within a few
blocks of the Downtown
Transit Center,
providing
convenient connections
to the University of
Houston main campus.

Suburb Service – Park
and Rides
METRO also provides Park
and Ride service,
allowing commuters to
drive to a nearby
transit center and ride
in from there. Available
from most all Houston
suburbs, Park and Ride
service allows you to
save gas and skip the
frustration of rush hour
traffic.
Residents along the Gulf
Freeway corridor can
connect via the Eastwood
Transit Center and ride
the Cougar Line campus
shuttle. All other areas
will connect to local
routes at the Downtown
Transit Center.

Q-Cards
METRO Q-Cards are
reloadable cards used to
pay fares on METRO buses
and METRORAIL. You can
complete the application
form at the Welcome
Center Parking Services
Desk and will receive
your Q-Card typically
within 2 weeks. You can
also reload your METRO
Q-Card at the Welcome
Center Parking Services
Desk.
Students
Students with a student
Q-Card receive 50% off
METRO fares. To sign up
for a student Q-card
visit the Welcome Center
Parking Services Desk.
On-campus residents can
utilize METRO to access
popular destinations
across Houston,
including Minute Maid
Park, Reliant Park, the
Museum District, or
shopping at the
Galleria.
Faculty/Staff
Faculty and Staff
members who join the
UH
Commuter Club are
eligible for ride
sponsoring. When you
enroll in the ride
sponsoring program with
a valid Q-Card, Parking
and Transportation
Services will pay 25% of
your monthly METRO fare.
Plus you can set up
pre-tax payroll
deductions to load onto
your Q-Card, saving you
money at the end of the
year.

customizable trip
planners which allow you
to enter a beginning and
destination address,
along with your desired
departure or arrival
times.
COUGAR LINE SHUTTLES
AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION
Non-stop convenience to
the airport.
METRO offers local
service from campus to
Hobby Airport via the
88.
METRO’s
Airport Direct service
provides a $4.50 one-way
trip to Bush
Intercontinental on a
30-minute frequency and
is across the street
from the downtown
transit center.
Super Shuttle
provides students,
faculty and staff a
discount on round-trip
travel to either
airport. Use discount
code COUG1 when booking
online. Super Shuttle
picks up in front of the
UC, or at the Hilton
hotel.
Additionally, taxi
service to either
airport is charged
according to a flat rate
zone map.

LIGHT RAIL
Mass transit on the
right track!
Construction is underway
on the next piece of
METRO’s Light Rail
project. The Southeast
line will connect the
University of Houston to
downtown Houston, at the
Main Street Station,
near the Downtown
Transit Center.
Long-term plans call for
3 lines to provide
service to the campus.

ride METRORAIL. The Main
Street Line connects the
Reliant Park area with
the Medical Center, the
Museum District and
