The Commuter Club is a
program designed to
reduce peak hour
commuter trips to the
campus. Reducing the
number of commuter trips
to campus is one piece
of the solution to the
parking problem on
campus. Additionally,
the Commuter Club
contributes to the green
initiatives on campus by
helping to reduce
emissions by reducing
the number of vehicles
traveling to and from
campus.
You can choose the
alternative
transportation option
that best fits your
needs:
- METRO
- Carpool
- Vanpool
- Bicycle
- Walk
Benefits of Joining
Join the UH Commuter
Club and you may be
eligible for the
following rewards:
- Carpools and Vanpools
receive reserved parking
spaces
- Complimentary daily
parking permits for days
you need to drive
- Vanpool subsidies
- METRO Ride Sponsoring
– PTS will pay 25% of
your fare
- Emergency Ride Home
Eligibility
Open to current faculty
and staff, you are
eligible to join the UH
Commuter Club if you
meet the following
criteria:
- You do not drive to,
or park near the campus
as part of your
alternative
transportation option.
- Must be an active
full-time faculty or
staff member of the
University of Houston
main campus.
- You must use an
alternative
transportation option
for the duration of your
membership.
- You are not an evening
or night-shift employee.
- You do not buy a
parking permit (except
for 1-day temporary
permits) for the
duration of your
membership.
If at any time you fail
to meet the eligibility
requirements of the UH
Commuter Club UH PTS
reserves to right to
suspend or revoke your
membership and parking
privileges.
SAVE MONEY
Going green can
save you green!
If you choose to ride
METRO you can avoid
paying for a permit
altogether. You also
save on gas and wear and
tear on your car. In
addition, PTS will pay
25% of your fare, and
the remaining balance
can be deducted on a
pre-tax basis.

CAR!
Carpool and vanpool
members can share the
cost of a permit as well
as gasoline expenses.
Vanpools are also
eligible to receive a
subsidy to help cover a
portion of the cost of
operating a vanpool.

Joining the UH Commuter Club is simple. Simply complete the online application and a member of Parking and Transportation’s Customer Service Team will contact you with additional information. You must renew your membership prior to the start of each academic year.
