  • What Is Teaching Like at UH? (Interactive panel discussion)
  • Breakout Forums (Faculty select two 20-minute sessions)
  • The Legal Side of Being a Faculty Member
12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Lunch and Table Conversation

Please note that the afternoon session is only for Tenured and Tenure-track faculty:

1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Breakout Forums (Faculty select two 20-minute sessions)

  • Promotion and Tenure 101 (Interactive panel discussion)

Location and Parking Directions:

UH Hilton Hotel, Conrad Hilton Ballroom (S202). For your convenience, please park in the UH Hilton Hotel garage. A free parking pass will be provided to you at the orientation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should attend?
All new full-time faculty with an effective start date between February 1, 2013 and September 1, 2013 are expected to attend.

Is registration required?
You must register to attend, using the online registration form. You will then receive an email confirming your registration.

When may someone register?
Your hiring documentation must be completed.  Your department business administrator will let you know when you may register.

What is the registration deadline?
  August 6, 2013.

Will breakfast/lunch be provided?
Yes. A continental breakfast and a buffet lunch are provided. Should you have any dietary restrictions, please include them in the online registration form.

What is the attire?
Casual business is recommended. A jacket is not required. Please note that the meeting rooms are somewhat chilly for some attendees.

Does benefits sign-up take place at NFO?
No. Benefits sign-up is part of the Human Resources Faculty Orientation, which is held on Wednesday August 21. Please click the following link for the HR registration information:
