The University of Houston College of Optometry seeks an outstanding individual lo work with The Ocular Surface Institute (http://losi.opt.uh.edu/index.cfm). This is a tenure-track position for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in either the Department of Clinical or Vision Sciences.

Current faculty of The Ocular Surface institute are engaged in research in ocular surface diseases in a broad sense, with significant emphases in dry eye disease. Other related research areas include clinical sciences (epidemiological or clinical trials), polymer science (e.g., contact lenses), analytical science, ocular surface immunity and inflammation, and microbiology/infection. The College and Ocular Surface Institute are seeking an individual who will complement and broaden its research strengths in an area of ocular surface research.

Researchers at the University of Houston College of Optometry comprise a well-funded, vibrant and interactive community. The Ocular Surface Institute boasts state of the art facilities for patient-based research including an environmental chamber as well as excellent laboratory facilities for animal, cellular and molecular studies and in vivo and in vitro imaging. The faculty member will join the College's internationally recognized faculty (see http://www.opt.uh.edu/) and will leach optometric and graduate students in didactic or clinical settings, mentor research students, and be expected to contribute to and participate in an externally funded research program associated with The Ocular Surface Institute.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with the candidate's qualification, and all applicants must have a doctorate degree (OD, MD, PhD or any combination or equivalent).
