Assistant/Associate Professor - Information and Logistics Technology - Instructional
The Department of Information and Logistics Technology at the University of Houston invites applications for an instructional faculty position at the rank of Instructional Assistant/ Associate Professor teaching in the area of Supply Chain and Logistics Technology beginning in the fall of 2014.
Applicants should have demonstrated knowledge, skills, practices and experience in global supply chain management, logistics processes and metrics and transportation operations. Preferred candidates will have an earned doctorate in the field and basic business skills; Master's degree will be considered. The successful candidate is expected to provide expertise in undergraduate teaching and service within the business and academic community.
Assist ILT Chair in working with the program coordinators of the ILT program, be program coordinator and manager of the Supply Chain and Logistics program, by setting up course schedules for the semesters, assist in hiring adjunct instructors, approve General Petitions for the program. Work with students on their petitions, degree plans; assist in helping approve students for graduate school. Council students in their career path; work with the community in helping set up internships, scholarships for our programs. Work with coordinators and ILT faculty on issues concerning students over petitions, etc. Also mentor one the largest student organizations on campus SIDO. The department is experiencing strong growth and expects the trend to continue. The growing industry demand for our Logistics Technology graduates validates the Logistics program content and identifies additional growth areas. Strong enrollment growth and the expansion of the program into the maritime and packaging areas of Supply Chain represent additional growth opportunities for our program.
