Orientation Information

Registration for 2009 New Faculty Orientation has closed. Information about 2010 New Faculty Orientation will be posted as it becomes available.

8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. - Check-In and Continental Breakfast

9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Orientation (Academic & HR)

Location and Parking Directions:

UH Hilton Hotel, Conrad Hilton Ballroom (S202). For your convenience, please park in the UH Hilton Hotel garage. A free parking token will be provided to you at the orientation.

Who should attend?

All new full-time faculty with an effective start date between February 1, 2009 and September 1, 2009 are expected to attend.

Does benefits sign-up take place at NFO?

Yes. Human Resources Orientation is part of New Faculty Orientation.  Benefits information and sign-up takes place immediately following the New Faculty Orientation.

Is registration required?

You must register to attend, using the online registration form. You will then receive an email confirming your registration.

When may someone register?

Your hiring documentation must be completed.  Your department business administrator will let you know when you may register.

What is the registration deadline?

  August 11, 2009.

Will breakfast/lunch be provided?

Yes.  A continental breakfast and a buffet lunch are provided. Should you have any dietary restrictions, please include them in the online registration form.

What is the attire?

Casual business is recommended.  A jacket is not required.
