Description:

The Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of Houston invites applications for chair of the department, beginning August 2009.

The area of scholarly specialization is open, but senior scholars with a considerable publication and teaching record in U.S. Hispanic literature or Spanish American literature are highly desirable.

The Department of Hispanic Studies has 16 full-time faculty members and offers a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in Spanish; it is the only one in the nation granting a Ph.D. with a focus on the language, literature and culture of Latinos in the United States. http://www.class.uh.edu/hispanicstudies
