The University of Houston College of Pharmacy is accepting applications for the position of Director, Ambulatory-based Advanced Practice Experiences. This individual will also be appointed as Clinical Assistant Professor or other appropriate academic rank.
The Director of Ambulatory-based Advanced Practice Experiences is responsible for development and coordination of community pharmacy and other ambulatory-based advanced pharmacy practice experiences. Duties include student assignment and orientation to sites, preceptor orientation and training, site selection and evaluation, maintenance of experiential manuals, preparation and administration of practical and written examinations, preparation of reports and maintenance of records, determining and reporting student grades. Some teaching and/or course coordination will be required in topics concerning management, pharmacy practice, or therapeutics, depending on the background of the selected individual. This individual will be expected to participate in student affairs, alumni affairs, professional organizations, and continuing education programs offered by the College.
Qualifications include a licensure as a pharmacist in Texas, and a Pharm.D. degree, knowledge of pharmacy practice, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of community pharmacies and personnel, particularly in the Houston area, would be an asset.
