Clinical Associate Professor - Math Master Teacher for teachHOUSTON - Non-Tenure-Track
Description:
The teachHOUSTON Program in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is seeking an individual to teach university courses leading to state certification in math and science at the middle and high school levels.
Primary responsibilities include teaching field based courses for undergraduate students who are pursuing math and/or science certification, working with local area teachers who act as mentors for the students, and conducting field observations of the students. Additional duties will include committee assignments, student mentoring, and other programmatically related tasks.
This position consists of a twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor. The position is renewable on an annual basis depending on job performance and available funding.
Qualifications:
A master's degree is required, with preference given to a Ph.D./Ed.D. The successful candidate will have substantial teaching experience in a public school and a demonstrated track record of honors and awards related to classroom teaching or leadership. An in-depth knowledge of the subject area is also required. Preferred content area is Mathematics.
