Assistant or Associate Professor - Curriculum and Instruction - Four (4) Positions - Tenure-Track

Description:

Join the dynamic team of scholars and teachers who are working with our new President to advance the University of Houston - Texas' premier urban research university.

The University of Houston is a comprehensive, urban research university serving over 35,000 students. Its College of Education is NCA TE accredited.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers certificate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs and plays the principal role in a large field-based undergraduate teacher preparation program - named by the Association of Teacher Educators as the 2007 Distinguished Program in Teacher Education.

We are seeking colleagues with an established program of research, experience in standards-based assessment, and technologies for enhancing student learning.

  • Mathematics Education,
    Assistant Professor, tenure-track

    The position requires three years of experience in K-12 teaching and an earned doctorate with primary emphasis in mathematics education.
     
  • Educational Leadership,
    Assistant/Associate Professor, tenure-track

    The position requires an earned doctorate. Teaching and research emphases: principal and superintendent certification. For consideration at the rank of Associate Professor, a demonstrated record of research, scholarly publications, and successful grant writing is required.
     
  • Early Childhood Education,
    Assistant Professor, tenure-track

    The position requires three years of experience teaching PreKindergarten-Grade 3 and an earned doctorate with primary emphasis in early childhood education.
     
  • Social Studies Education,
    Assistant Professor, tenure-track

    The position requires three years of experience in K-12 teaching and an earned doctorate with primary emphasis in social studies/social education. A commitment to the critical investigation of social education through social justice, democratic education, and global awareness is desired.
