Assistant Professor - Civil and Environmental Engineering - Tenure-Track
Description:
University of Houston, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking a candidate to fill a tenure track faculty position commencing spring 2008 at the assistant professor level.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop a nationally recognized research program to conduct independent research in some of the emerging areas in structural engineering. The candidate should be able to perform interdisciplinary research within the Department, College and the University. The candidate should also demonstrate a strong commitment to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate must have an earned Ph.D., preferably in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
The University:
The University of Houston is a public university with 27,000 undergraduate and 8,000 graduate students located in a 200 acre park-like setting a few minutes from downtown Houston. The department has 14 full-time faculty, 240 undergraduate and 100 graduate students.
