Assistant Professor - Biology & Biochemistry - Stem Cell Biology - Tenure-Track

The Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston invites applications for a TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION in the area of stem cell biology.

The individual chosen will complement existing departmental strengths in cell and molecular biology and will join the newly formed Center for Cell Signaling and Nuclear Receptors under the directorship of Professor Jan-Ake Gustafsson.

We are especially interested in candidates working on cell signal transduction mechanisms and the interface between stem cell and cancer biology.

The position requires a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in cancer biology. Faculty are expected to develop nationally competitive externally funded research programs and to participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching. The Department has spacious laboratories, well- equipped core facilities, and encourages research collaborations.
