Assistant Professor - Experimental Condensed Matter Physics - Tenure-Track
The University of Houston is seeking candidates for an entry-level tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics with an interest in micro and nano-structures of clean energy materials. As examples these might, include thermoelectric and photovoltaic materials, high-energy batteries and super-capacitor materials, materials diffusion, or thermal stability physics. The successful candidate is expected to establish a productive and internationally visible research group with significant federal funding, as well as to teach students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate should complement the research programs currently being pursued by existing faculty members, and enhance the capabilities of the department in clean energy research.
The position requires a Ph.D. degree with experience in materials synthesis and characterization. Experience with applications in the clean energy area is especially desirable, as is direct experience with transmission electron microscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and optical spectroscopy.
Interested candidates should submit a current CV, a statement of research interests, and contact information for 3 potential references directly through the website at: http://phys.uh.edu/CMFacultySearch.
Review of applications will begin immediately until the position is filled.
