The University of Houston’s top administrators and outstanding faculty welcome you to the UH New Faculty Orientation (NFO)! During this day long event, participants will have the opportunity to meet top administrators and other new faculty; and learn about all the wonderful resources available at UH. A Resource Fair, with representatives from key UH offices, will provide materials and answer questions about life at UH. We hope the following information answers most of your questions regarding the NFO: |

Who should attend? |
All new full-time faculty with an effective start date between January 1, 2008 and September 1, 2008 are expected to attend. |
When may someone register? | Your hiring documentation must be completed. Your department business administrator will let you know when you may register. |
Is registration required? |
Yes. You must register to attend, using the online registration form. You will then receive an email confirming your registration. |
What is the registration deadline? |
August 12, 2008. |
Will breakfast/lunch be provided? |
Yes. A continental breakfast and a buffet lunch are provided. Should you have any dietary restrictions or the need for other special accommodations, please include them in the online registration form. |
What is the attire? | Casual business is recommended. A jacket is not required. |
Is parking provided? |
For your convenience, please park in the UH Hilton Hotel underground garage. A free Hilton Hotel parking token will be provided to you at the orientation. |

Does benefits sign-up take place at NFO? |
No. Benefits information and sign-up takes place at the Human Resources New Hire Orientation. All new faculty must also attend the Human Resources New Hire Orientation. Please contact your department business administrator for further information. |
