The Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Studies and Programs, Jerald W. Strickland, has oversight of the University of Houston Office of International Studies and Programs and assists the University of Houston System Universities in pursuing and sustaining high quality international programs. The Asst. VC is responsible for the quality and integrity of international education and scholarly affiliations at the University of Houston and advocates for the integration of cultural competency into programs, departments and colleges of the university.

In addition, Dr. Strickland is responsible for leading the Reaffirmation of Accreditation process for the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

The Asst. VC for International Studies and Programs reports to the Executive Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic and Faculty Affairs, Dr. Elaine M. Charlson.
