Executive Associate Vice President for Academic
and Faculty Affairs, UH

 
The Executive Associate Vice President for Academic and Faculty Affairs, Elaine M. Charlson, has a broad range of responsibilities in the academic area including overall responsibility for Enrollment Services, Undergraduate Studies, the UH Charter School, International Studies and Programs, Institutional Effectiveness, Distance and Continuing Education, PeopleSoft Student and Academic Administration System and the University of Houston's radio and TV stations, KUHF and KUHT. Oversight of faculty hiring, the promotion and tenure process, and the grievance process are the responsibility of the Office of the Executive Associate Vice President.

The Executive Associate Vice President chairs the Associate Deans Group and the Council of Chairs, is a member of the Provost's Cabinet, the Council of Deans, the University Coordinating Commission and the University of Houston System Provosts Council. She meets regularly with the Undergraduate Committee and with the University of Houston System Universities Faculty Executive Council.
