Leadership Profiles : Elizabeth A. Barlow
Assistant Vice President, Academic Affairs
As Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Elizabeth A. (Libby) Barlow has supervisory responsibility for the University of Houston's office of Institutional Research and Institutional Effectiveness, and she facilitates work on undergraduate students' first year experience.
Dr. Barlow's responsibilities include ensuring the integrity of academic data for internal decision-making and for accurate reporting to internal and external agencies, and developing a data warehouse environment bringing together multiple data sources. As a member of the Provost's cabinet, she oversees retention and graduation analyses, faculty productivity analyses, and other trend analyses and program reviews.
Dr. Barlow facilitates the Institutional Effectiveness planning process across campus, working with assessment staff distributed throughout the colleges to build assessment processes in support of student learning. She also oversees undergraduate general education assessment.
