For more than a year UH undergraduate Jon Berridge has investigated the neurons of Alzheimer's afflicted brains to find out the impact they have on cell signaling.
When I first reached out and asked you to share your thoughts and participate in building the future of the University of Houston, I had high hopes for a great response.
And now, after thousands of students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members have participated, I am truly inspired by your passion for this university. Over 5,000 people participated and shared over 11,000 suggestions and ideas. I have read suggestions ranging from strengthening our on-campus community and improving graduation rates to attracting nationally prominent faculty and promoting stronger local research partnerships.
Now that I have completed my first 100 Days as President and Chancellor of the University of Houston and the University of Houston System, I have met with the Board of Regents and my leadership team to analyze your suggestions and outline our vision for the future as well as our strategies, plans, and priorities. In the fall, I will share our plans on how everyone can work together to make the University of Houston as a nationally premier research institution and continue to excel with student success as our fundamental mission. Together, we can achieve greater heights. Thank you for your passion and commitment to this great university!
