Ask a Cop
The
University of Houston Department of Public
Safety is always looking for ways to open
the lines of communication between the
Police Department and the university
community. Our patrol officers find that
many of the students, faculty and staff they
come into contact with on a daily basis have
questions about police procedures, criminal
laws, and how we as university police
officers handle criminal activity on campus.
You can visit our
Frequently Asked Questions page to see
some of the more common questions.
If you don't find your answer there, UHDPS has instituted “Ask a
Cop”, where the community can
present questions to police officers,
and get answers from the men and women who
patrol their campus. Questions submitted
should be limited to those that do not
require an immediate reply. Though we will
do our best to
answer questions about laws and possible
sanctions, it should be noted that we will
not offer legal guidance, and none of the
information we provide should be construed
as such.
Community members with questions regarding a
serious matter, of a time sensitive nature,
are asked to telephone UHDPS at 713-743-3333
and speak with an on-duty officer.
