Access Control maintains mechanical and electrical door locking hardware and provides key cuttings services for doors, desks, and file cabinets.

Ordering
Individual Room & Building Keys - Start with your department, professor, or lab manager. They will assist you in requesting a key and obtaining the proper signature approval using the 4-copy Key Request form that can be purchased from Printing and Postal.
Submaster/Building Master Keys - All Sub-Master and Master key request require the department to use the approved Sub-master /master key request form instead of the 4-copy Key Request form.
Card Access - Start with your department, professor, or lab manager. They will assist you in requesting card access and obtaining the proper signature approval.
Desk & Cabinet Keys - Submit an online billable request.
Timing
Individual room/building key requests and/or card access is normally ready within 3 working days. Submaster and building-master keys may take up to 5 days to process.
Cost - for lost or duplicate keys only
Effective April 1, 2013, The non-refundable fee of $10.00 (per key) covers the cost of labor and materials associated in issuing any key requested, including; door, sub-master, security, mechanical and desk keys. Please note, the $10.00 flat rate is a service fee and any keys issued should continue to be returned to the Facilities Service Center once the key/access is no longer needed. The price has changed to ensure proper cost recovery and will be the same regardless of key type.
For lost or duplicate keys, you can pay with cash, check, or department cost center.

I am locked out of my office. What do I do? Contact Campus Police at 713-743-3333
I am a department administrator. Where can I get key request form? At this time, they can be ordered at University Printing and Postal Services. Fill out the Stationary Order Form and specify the quantity and description under Preprinted Forms section.
How do I get a key or card access? Please see your department, professor, or lab manager.
How will I know when my key is ready to be picked up at Facilities Service Center (FSC)? A representive from FSC will notify you either by phone or email when key is ready for pick up.
How long do I have to pick up my key? You have 30 days to pick up your key. After 30 days, unclaimed keys will be returned to the Lock Shop. You must complete a new key request form to obtain your key(s).
