Ona Underhill has been a dedicated employee of the University of Houston for the last 40 years.  In this time she has continually exhibited superior performance and work habits.

Ona continually strives to improve the department, while never asking for or seeking recognition.  She is truly a Subject Matter Expert in her daily role as Business Administrator. She is continually vigilant in her analysis of each situation with regard to what is best for Plant Operations.  She loves her job and is always willing to help anyone who needs guidance or advice in his or her job.  A 16-hour workday is a norm for her as well as putting in extra hours on the weekend.

She has been involved with the new upgrade to the Facilities Work Order System which will allow Plant Operations to provide better service to the University.  Recently she has been a lead person in Plant Operations’ efforts to streamline procedures, eliminate paperwork and place more functions on-line.  She willingly accepts any task assigned to her and carries it through to completion.

Ona continues to work diligently for the university well past her retirement eligibility!  She gives a whole new meaning to the word exemplary.  She is extremely dedicated to all that she does.
