UH Gets a Name for its New Field; Stadium Name to be Determined


The University of Houston has received a $5 million gift to name the field at its new football stadium John O'Quinn Field, UH vice president for intercollegiate athletics Mack Rhoades said Friday.

The name was also on the field at Robertson Stadium and was kept through a donation from the John O'Quinn Foundation.

"They really wanted to leave John's name and a legacy on the new stadium," Rhoades said.

UH opens its new stadium Aug. 30 against UTSA.
