| The primary mission of the Plant Operations Department is to serve the needs of faculty, students and staff by maintaining and improving the physical environment and facilities of the University of Houston. In this role, the Plant Operations organization carries out its mission by providing professional support in the areas of Facilities Management, which includes Building Maintenance, Key Control, Maintenance Stores, Recycling & Waste Management, Custodial Services-Grounds Maintenance, Utility Services, Electricity and Power Energy Management, and HVAC. Plant Operations also provides professional support through Facilities Planning and Construction, Finance & Operations, Customer Service Center, and by directing the efforts of outsourced services.
