College of Pharmacy Research
UHCOP faculty members have received
national recognition for their research and service. Recent faculty
publications have appeared in such journals as Nature and Science, as
well as major pharmacological, pharmaceutical and physiological
journals.
College faculty research and program initiatives include cardiovascular studies, transdermal drug delivery, neuropharmacology, signal transduction mechanisms, aging and exercise, infectious disease protocols, and patient counseling and compliance.
Faculty members have also collaborated with the Baylor College of Medicine on a project investigating methods of gene therapy and with the University of Texas M.D Anderson Cancer Center on a project investigating the molecular and cellular mechanism of anticancer drug action and infectious disease research.
