Curriculum & Rotations

The M.S. in Pharmacy Administration program offered by the College of Pharmacy covers the following courses and topics:

  • Pharmacy Administration & Management
  • Research Methods in Pharmacy Administration
  • Biostatistics & Experimental Design
  • Healthcare Marketing
  • Strategic Healthcare Management
  • Pharmacy Health-System Management
  • Financial Management of Healthcare Organizations
  • Leadership & Organization in Healthcare Service
  • Hospital Operations
  • Thesis or Project

 

The courses are offered in the evenings at Texas Medical Center facilities. The required coursework can be completed in 24 months. Please contact the graduate program director for additional details.

 
The Texas Medical Center Institutions will offer following administrative rotations in addition to their clinical rotations as part of the 24-month Residency program:

  • Human Resources
  • Finance Management
  • Regulatory
  • Joint Commission
  • Automation
  • Formulary Management
  • Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee issues

As a new program, the Residency in Pharmacy Administration from the Texas Medical Center Institutions is not currently accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and but is currently participating in the ASHP Matching.  ASHP accreditation shall be sought and, when conferred, shall be applied retroactively to include the first year class of the PGY2 program.  Please contact residency directors for additional details.
