Current Resident: Alexa (Ali) Vyain
Dr. Alexa (Ali) Vyain ;is a Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy Class of 2015 alumnus, who comes to Houston after completing her post-graduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy practice residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Ali traveled south to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to play soccer and complete her Bachelor of Science degree at Nova Southeastern University.
Ali has a passion for caring for the HIV community and teaching/precepting. Ali was attracted to this residency program because of the unique opportunities in HIV adult and pediatric pharmacotherapy and robust ;research opportunities through the various practice sites. She also was excited for the ability to foster her teaching and precepting skills while at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy.
"I was looking for excellent mentorship and a place where I could have boundless learning opportunities within the field of HIV care, and this program felt like a perfect fit," she said.
After completing this residency, Ali is planning on seeking a job as a HIV clinical faculty member or a HIV clinical pharmacy specialist.
