Combined Programs

Combined Program

Please note:  Due to the additional academic and/or research commitment required of students in the college's Combined Program, the college REQUIRES applicants to have successfully completed the first year (P1) of the Pharm.D. curriculum before being considered for admission into the Pharm.D./Ph.D. program. The Concurrent M.S./Residency in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes program is a post-graduate training program requiring the completion of B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree as a minimum criterion for admission eligibility; consequently, it is not open to current students.

Pharm.D./Ph.D. in Pharmacology or Pharmaceutics

The Pharm.D./Ph.D. Combined Program is designed for the highly motivated and qualified individuals who are seeking an integrated program in the clinical and basic sciences preparing them for a career in academics or research. The graduate will be able to assume a leadership role in and provide exemplary service to a wide spectrum of institutions concerned with health care and/or health delivery. The program's graduate will have the necessary knowledge of a basic science discipline and a full appreciation of the clinical sciences to excel in and act independently in research.

By carefully structuring the combined degree program on a year-round basis, it is possible to complete the requirements of both the Pharmacy Doctorate and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in seven years. Only a select few students will be able to meet the rigors and demands of such an academic endeavor. The degree program complements and not supplants the existing Pharm.D. and Ph.D. programs.
