Mission
The mission of this unique program is
to combine both clinical and managerial skills to develop leaders
in Pharmacy Administration who will focus beyond traditional methods
and advance the development of safe and effective delivery of
pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical care.
Program Goals
This program is intended to build upon
the Doctor of Pharmacy degree to develop leaders in Pharmacy Administration
with a philosophy based on excellence in clinical practice knowledge
and managerial skills.
Graduates will be expected to:
(1) Provide vision in respect to the pharmacist’s
professional role in the society and the health care system
and provide leadership necessary to move his/her organization
forward toward that vision,
(2) Create excellence in drug use management systems within
his/her practice setting and to document and communicate the
effects of drug use management,
(3) Be effective in recruiting, motivating, and managing pharmacists
and/or pharmacy technicians to improve patient outcomes,
(4) Provide effective oversight of a pharmacy operation with
the use of appropriate skills in planning, management, and delegation,
and
(5) Have a breadth of knowledge that
allows comprehension in areas of pharmacy administration such
as health policy, health and pharmaco-economics, pharmaco-epidemiology,
outcomes research, and disease management.
