College Salutes Graduates, Golden Cougars and Preceptors

 

Houston 5-24-13 - UH College of Pharmacy welcomed nearly 100 pharmacists and researchers to its alumni ranks at the 63rd UHCOP Commencement Ceremony on May 10 in Cullen Performance Hall.

The May Class of 2013 comprised 91 Pharm.D., one Ph.D. in Pharmacology and seven M.S. in Pharmacy Administration graduates. Twenty-five graduates who completed their degree program requirements in December and August 2012 also were recognized during the ceremony.

The college also welcomed the return of its largest class of Golden Cougars, with 17 members of the Class of 1963 participating
in the ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of their graduation from UHCOP.

The Golden Cougars in attendance were: Max D. Berry, Harold Fisher, George M. Harris III, Daniel Hrna, John A. Hruska, Ron Kuehnle, Oran Mobley, William Morgan, Jerry Philmon, William Pierce, Shelby Rash, Jerry Rudloff, Agnes Jacqueline Fritz Schoppe, Richard Schultz, Robert Sorrels, John Svoboda and Charles Trahan.

The ceremony included a commencement address was delivered by Texas Medical Center President & CEO Dr. Robert Robbins

Graduates and guests were welcomed by UH Vice President for Community Relations and Institutional Access Elwyn C. Lee and UH System Regent Nandita V. Berry, who also conferred the degrees upon graduates.
