Requirements
All evaluations of admissions requests
must be processed by the University
of Houston Office of International Admissions. Please note
that having an evaluation done by an outside agency does
not satisfy university requirements
In order to process and ensure that
the proper credit is given by the International Office of Admissions
for the undergraduate evaluation for courses completed outside
the United States, you are required to remit the following information.
The College of Pharmacy will assist the applicant by forwarding
paperwork to the International Office of Admissions; however,
the College of Pharmacy does not evaluate international transcripts.

Transcript Evaluations
Your transcript will be evaluated only
if your are applying for the next admission year to the UH College
of Pharmacy.
To have a transcript evaluated, the
student must submit the following:
- International application for admission
- Official transcripts translated
into English
- Mark sheets
- Photo (If International Student)
- Educational forms, showing the listing
of all studies and course descriptions
- Letter of financial backing if a
F- I or J- I student
- Check or money order in US demonimation
for $75.00 with social security number on the check. This check
must be separate and made out to the University of Houston.
Course description or course catalog
- College of Pharmacy Application
and $75.00 check or money order in US demonimation with Social
Security number on the check. This check must be a separate
check made out to the College of Pharmacy.
Submit the information to:

Houston, Texas 77204-5511
The Admissions Assistant, upon receiving
all information, will forward the information to the International
Office of Admissions, 4800 Calhoun, Houston, Texas 77204-2161.
The student is advised to:
- Allow a minimum of 12-16
weeks for the evaluation process
- Provide all requested information
at the same time in one complete packet
- Make a duplicate copy of all materials
submitted
Core Course Requirements
The following courses are required
core courses for pre-pharmacy students. While awaiting transcript
evaluation the student may wish to enroll in:
- Local State and National Government
(POLS 1336, POLS 1337)
- U. S. History (HIST 1377, HIST 1378)
- Fundamentals of Public Speaking
(COMM 1332)
- Introduction of Psychology OR Introduction
of Sociology
- Social Science, writing intensive(see
website: http://www.uh.edu/academics/corecurriculum/stu_info.html)
- English Composition I and II (only
if from a non-English speaking institution)
The student will be notified via mail
of the courses that will be transferred as credit. Note:
Your transcript will not be evaluated unless you are applying
for the next admission year within the College of Pharmacy.
When to contact an Advisor
After international evaluation of transcript
is completed, all students should be advised by the College of
Pharmacy. The academic advising is provided in a two step procedure
in the SR II building, suite 122.

To See An Advisor?" Web page for a schedule of advising
dates. All incoming students or those who have never been advised
are to an make appointment for Step 1 advising. Bring any USA
transcripts to verify coursework already completed. All returning
UH students are to make an appointment for Step 2 advising. Bring
any transfer transcripts not posted to the UH system to verify
coursework already completed.
