WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This program is intended for health professionals who desire to increase their knowledge of the latest developments in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the program, the health professional should be able to:
  1. Outline an approach to treatment infections caused by gram-positive organisms.
  2. Discuss the current issues on treatment of tuberculosis.
  3. Outline treatment plan options for outpatient managed HIV infected patients.
  4. Outline the guidelines for immunization of children and adults.
  5. Discuss the prophylactic use of antifungal agents in immunocompromised patients
  6. Discuss the management of C. difficile associate diarrhea.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
The University of Houston College of Pharmacy (UHCOP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing education. Pharmacists documenting completion of the program “Infectious Disease Pharmacotherapy Symposium 2008" (066-000-08-015-L01-P) by signing in and completing evaluations will receive 6 contact hour (0.6 CEUs) pharmacy continuing education credit, and will receive a statement of credit by mail within 3 weeks of UHCOP being notified of the completion date.

REGISTRATION
Registration is via mail only and must be received by May 19, 2008. There is no on-site registration. Registration fee includes program materials, meals
(breakfast, lunch, and breaks), and CEUs.
