In
1979, Larry McClaugherty and Louis Williams shared a common vision.
They wanted to foster fellowship among the college’s alumni and
friends, while raising scholarship funds for pharmacy students. Indeed,
they have succeeded.
On September 20, 1980, 47 participants played in the first Scholarship
Golf Tournament. They paid $20 for a round of golf in Galveston, Texas
and netted $470 for the college.
Over the
last 28 years, the tournament has provided more than $200,000 in scholarship
funds to students either directly or by the Pharmacy Scholarship Endowment.
Your involvement in the tournament will enable the college to accomplish
this goal and make a difference in the education of many future pharmacists.
