Financial Aid

Top 10 Things to Remember about Financial Aid
at the UH College of Pharmacy

  1. Complete your financial aid file at UH before April 1st of each year.
  2. Check the box marked GRADUATE student on your FAFSA if you are a Pharm. D. student.
  3. Fill in the correct loan period on your loan application – especially in Summer Sessions. This may differ from the period that you will actually be in class. Double-check the schedule for the correct loan period.
  4. You MUST fill out a separate loan application for Summer Loans.
  5. You MUST include your parents' information on the FAFSA if you wish to be considered for the Health Professions Loan — no matter how old you are or if you live with them or not!
  6. All financial aid paperwork should be turned into the main UH financial aid office.
  7. Pell Grants are not available for graduate-professional students per federal regulations.
  8. Maximum loan amounts for full-time Pharm.D students are $8500 subsidized and $10,000 unsubsidized. You may not get the maximum loan amount due to past year's earnings or cost of education not being $18,500.
  9. Use BLACK ink on all documents.
  10. Walk-ins are welcome, however, please call or e-mail first to make sure the counselor will be available.
