Research Interests

My research interests are in the areas of pharmacy practice and health disparities. My dissertation research used the theory of planned behavior to examine Texas community pharmacists’ intended use of the online prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP), when making dispensing decisions regarding controlled prescriptions drugs (CPDs).  Under the authority of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas PDMP tracks all of the CPDs dispensed from Texas community pharmacies. Other research interests are in medication use disparities of antidepressant medications and pain treatment and pharmacists’ interventions to improve medication adherence.
